1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
A class project in college became a company that grew beyond my dreams! Simplex is a construction products distribution business that sells steel and concrete products to build our nation’s infrastructure. As the sole owner, I am very proud that we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary on July 21, 2012!
2. Which do your prefer? Talking on the phone or texting?
My father, the late Leonard Wojtowicz, enlisted during WWII on his 17th birthday. As a member of the Silent Generation, he returned from fighting for his country with a quiet strength that was felt in his presence. He taught me to treasure each day and those we love!
3. What’s something you only do when you get bored?
In 2011, I was honored by the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Tribe in ND with a burial blanket for a young Indian girl who was severely burned. Her family abandoned her in the hospital. When Elaina came out of a coma, I was there until she died 3 months later.
4. Are you overly loyal to any clothing brands?
My employees often refer to me affectionately as “Boss Lady.” Emphasis is on the gender identification given my position within the male dominated construction industry.
5. What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?
The Christmas Season is my favorite time of year! We celebrate the birth of Christ, neighbors help neighbors, and families come together. I love sharing Christmas cards, baking cookies, singing carols, decorating the tree, hosting parties, and finding the perfect gift to give loved ones!
