1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
During an exceptionally hard time in my life, someone told me, “Take the script you’ve written for your life. Tear it up…and hand God the pen.†I’ve revisited this timely quote many times since then!
2. Which do your prefer? Talking on the phone or texting?
I’m never happier than when I have a goal I’m pushing towards. I love learning and trying new things—especially when it’s music/language-related. As a court/medical/social services interpreter, I love working with different nations and cultures and get excited to find the perfect word to relay a thought or idea. At the end of the day though…it’s my family that makes life exciting. We’re a musical/artsy family, so there’s always drama going on at our house!
3. What’s something you only do when you get bored?
I grew up multi-culturally—which ultimately led me to my career as an international interpreter. I have a huge love of words, languages, cultural/ethnic diversity, and multi-dimensional societal belief systems. On occasion I’m asked to teach on these subjects—mostly to high school students. I love igniting passion in others to explore other horizons and to embrace ALL there is to learn from looking outside our own limited “boxes†and biases.
4. Are you overly loyal to any clothing brands?
This answer is difficult to pinpoint! Truthfully, sometimes I feel like a fun-loving (and even silly) 9 year-old who can’t curb her joy. Other times (because of being overly empathetic) I feel too old for my years—especially when seeing or experiencing sad/painful things. So to answer this question…I would be ageless. (But if I could choose any age to be, I would go with 55—the age I am right now.)
5. What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?
A perfect (and fun) date night absolutely must involve a leisurely meal outdoors—under twinkly lights! And to make it even more amazing…tell my husband to stop on our way home at our favorite Mediterannean café for a Greek coffee and a piece of homemade baklava! Then…take me back home for a good movie!
