1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
REST, but never QUIT! This message transfers to every aspect of my life. Persistence is what allows us to grow and become wiser and stronger. With trust in God, we must remain unwavering in our life’s journey. When there is no wind to push us along, we must row.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
Nothing excites me more than someone who embraces their authentic self. I rejoice in confident geeks, the brazen, the outspoken, the bold in fashion and personality- the trailblazers who make it OK for people who would otherwise feel marginalized. Afterall, it’s authenticity that makes someone eternally beautiful, and most of all, unforgettable!
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
To be resourceful! At a young age, I had to solve problems with limited resources which forced me to tap into my creativity, my ingenuity, and my ability to innovate and find solutions. I learned how to do more with less. Ultimately, this became a catalyst for my love of science and engineering. The skills I developed at a young age play a pivotal role in my teaching career and passion for problem solving.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
3--the age of wonder and clarity. I will always look at a sky full of stars, a fresh snowfall, an ocean, a sunset, and especially my children, with pure awe and amazement. Despite all of the difficulties I’ve had to endure, I am proud of my unrelenting optimism. It’s work looking for the silver lining, but I know the power of perspective and choose to see the world through the eyes of a child.
5.What is the one thing you’ll never do again?
For the past 25 years, my husband has made me feel like the only person in the world when we are on our weekly date nights. Whether we are taking a long walk on the beach, going for a scenic drive, or enjoying a romantic dinner, he always takes the time to listen to my silly stories. I always appreciate the way he still looks at me, as if we are on our very first date. No matter the time that has passed, making the effort to celebrate one another is something that I am truly grateful for.
