1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
People tell me Sofia Vergara, and I don’t mind one bit. We are both tall, brunette, and built for a room. But the comparison I treasure most comes from my patients - they say I look like someone they trust. That’s the presence I have always wanted to carry.
2. Which do your prefer? Talking on the phone or texting?
I text when I need to be efficient, but I call when it matters. As a physician, I’ve learned that tone, pause, and warmth can change what someone hears. I carry that same intention into my personal life. Some of my best conversations happen on a quiet evening walk or over dinner, when there’s time to slow down and connect.
3. What’s something you only do when you get bored?
Stillness is a gift, so I protect it. I make tea, sit somewhere without a screen, and let my mind wander. Sometimes I write. Sometimes I just notice how quiet a house can be when no one needs anything from you. A woman who never rests loses herself. I’ve learned to pour back into myself in those moments.
4. Are you overly loyal to any clothing brands?
White House Black Market. I’m drawn to clean lines and rich colors. Nothing fussy, nothing forgettable. My style is intentional. Whether I am on stage, in the clinic, or at my daughter’s recital, I want to walk in looking like I chose to be there.
5. What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?
At 18, I left Bosnia with a suitcase, my father’s legacy, $600, and a dream. I survived the war, but I knew surviving was not enough. I wanted freedom to grow into the woman God called me to be. Nearly thirty years later, I've built a life I chose - a loving husband, a medical practice, a nonprofit, and three incredible children. Looking back, every uncertain step was worth it.
