1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
I try harder each day because of the 13 year old version of myself who tried to end her life. I see different versions of myself at every school group I speak to and I want to change the world for these young people. I want to give them an example of a person who doesn't give up, even when it feels like that's the only choice they have.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
Exploring somewhere new with my husband, Chris, is the perfect day for me. Last year we were lucky enough to travel to four countries and this year we will be logging over 7000 miles on road trips. There is no one I would rather spend the day with and when we get to discover a new place together, it's even better.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
As someone who lives with a mental illness, I know what it's like to live each day with pain. My mission in life is to lessen that pain for others and I accomplish that by sharing my platform, A Different Kind of Lifeguard, with young people, or smiling at a stranger. I see each day as an opportunity to change lives.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
Chris's grandfather passed away the week of our one year wedding anniversary and I won the title of Mrs. South Dakota International the evening of his wake. The most treasured items in our home are the anniversary card we received from him the day before his passing and a carved depiction of the Last Supper that hung in his home.
